About the event

A Woman Lost in Paradise: John Milton Festival at St Giles

Did you know that the great English poet John Milton, author of ‘Paradise Lost’, was buried at St Giles’ Cripplegate? The amazing mezzo soprano Elizabeth Lynch becomes ‘A Woman Lost in Paradise’ visiting Milton’s ‘Garden of Eden’ to perform a modern female response to 'Paradise Lost’ with songs by Mahler, Rachmaninoff, Horowitz, Handel, Schumann, Britten, Fauré, Grieg, Barber, Warlock, Purcell, Strauss + Jason Robert Brown. We are joined by actor Paul Ridley to give us some original ‘Miltonian’ context!

Elizabeth Lynch mezzo soprano;  Gavin Roberts  piano;  Paul Ridley actor

Please note: This programme replaces the previously advertised 'A Viennese Café' with Claire Barnett-Jones and Rebecca Cohen (we hope to reschedule this in 2025)

Food and wine available as usual!
